Ann Trimble Sharpless (1752-1837) was Phebe Sharpless Middleton's mother. She describes caring for her niece Edith Sharpless, who was gravely ill. The first few paragraphs of the letter were probably written by Edith Sharpless's brother-in-law James R. Greaves.
